Flooded with an abundance of natural daylight, this east facing three-bedroom apartment located in the west captures the rigorous process of bringing in the essence of a light-filled interior that exudes warmth and atmosphere into every corner. Juxtaposing between light and volume of spaces, creating different spaces that is both functional and emotive.

 

To accentuate the warmth of sunlight into the entire apartment, a delicate combination of warm tones manifests itself from the flooring to the millworks creating a warm yet soft space that is timeless.

Designed as a transitional space for repose, the foyer needed to feel calm, yet delightful. Upon entering the apartment, one is immediately greeted by the warm yet pared back finishes that is present throughout the entire home. Large aperture glass that connects the pitched ceiling above the full-height storage allows natural light to diffuse evenly and flow into the foyer area.

Separated by a full-height glass sliding door, the main living area where the Living and Dining sits forms a visual extension into the study, creating a visually open space that is bright and connected.

With the study being the focus of the apartment where the owners work from home almost exclusively, a communal study was envisioned as a space that is tight knit yet productive. Capitalising on the full-height windows, the study is generously lit throughout the day with a communal study table that could easily fit four. Full height storage with display shelves by the side adds a bit of character and layers into the study, creating a conducive environment to work and study with their kids at the same time.

In the master bedroom area, the same communal approach is echoed but with added formal elements to create a well-defined space especially in the sleeping area. Upon entering, one immediately enters into the walk-in wardrobe connected to an ensuite with wardrobe and storage on both sides. Separated by full height timber frame on both sides, the sleeping area was kept minimal with ambient cove light and Hashira Wall light from Audo to add warmth and calmness to the space.
