Situated in a quiet residential development surrounded with lush greenery on all sides, this three-bedroom walk-up apartment imbues the peaceful serenity of its surrounding into the interior.
Understated in its form with a restrained material palette, this apartment balances openness with privacy, creating a layered approach to privacy that unfolds from within that feels open yet private. A combination of staggered dark homogeneous tile, wood and textured walls present throughout the entire apartment, creating an overarching warmth and contrast that is minimal yet rich.

Upon entering, one is immediately greeted with a private foyer that softly leads into the main living space. Framed with light timber strips and textured walls, the foyer adds as an interstitial gap, creating a sense of separation from the external.

In the main living area, large, expansive windows flood the entire space with warm afternoon light that peer into the private lounge area beyond the timber sliding screen. To maintain the visual openness, low furniture with minimal built-in was opted to preserve the visual presence of the lush greenery beyond into the space.

Stepping up, separated by a timber sliding door, the pared back private lounge with a hidden pantry reveals itself as a space for the owners and their pets to lounge. Designed as a space for intimate hosting that also accommodates to their ageing pets, low furniture and loose seating, both formal and informal, are arranged throughout the space to create a sense of relaxed environment for hosting and lounging.

Full-height wall panels conceal the kitchen and private corridor entrance while a feature pedestal, with pivoting panels, brings in natural daylight and cross ventilation into the private lounge area, adding a sense of depth and lightness to the space.

In the Master Bedroom area, the layout was rethought to incorporate a double vanity and an onsen tub within the master area. To separate the resting space and vanity area, a full-height timber screen and oak flooring creates a subdued change in material and tactility, providing a natural divider between both functions.
